The Hawkins stainless steel pressure cooker is constructed with food-grade, superior stainless steel (AISI Grade 304) for the body and lid, ensuring maximum hygiene and durability. The '18/8' designation signifies that this stainless steel grade contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel, providing greater anti-corrosion resistance and the ability to withstand the various acids found in many foods such as fruits, meats, milk, and vegetables. The pressure cooker body and lid feature an extra-thick, 5.8 mm sandwich bottom. Sandwiched between two sheets of stainless steel is a 4.1 mm thick core of aluminium, which rapidly and evenly distributes heat, preventing hotspots and ensuring that food will not burn or stick. The external base is made of AISI Grade 430 magnetic stainless steel, allowing the cooker to be used on both gas and induction cooktops. The extra-thick base remains flat and never bulges, enabling safe use for light and deep frying before pressure cooking.

The Hawkins pressure cooker is equipped with a unique, pressure-locked safety lid. When there is pressure inside the cooker, the lid becomes locked, similar to a modern jetliner door, and cannot be opened until the pressure has dropped to a safe level.

This pressure cooker is compatible with induction cooktops and is suitable for cooking for 5-7 persons. The package includes a 1-piece stainless steel pressure cooker with a 5-litre capacity.
